Animated Periodic Table of the Elements


This site allows visitors to browse through the alkali metals, the alkaline earth metals, and both the lanthanide and actinide series. As users move their mouse across the table they can learn each element’s boiling point, its oxidation states, its atomic weight, and its density. Wonderful World of Weather


This standards-based Real Time Data Module has been created for use by students in the elementary grades to allow them to investigate weather phenomena both locally as well as in other places around the world. By using hands-on activities and real-time data investigations, the students will develop a basic understanding of how weather can be described in measurable quantities, such as temperature, wind and precipitation. The lesson plans which make up this module have been designed to allow teachers to select the ones which fit into their curriculum to allow for flexibility in implementation. This project is developed and managed by the Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) which is located at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
