Midlink Magazine

Midlink Magazine http://www.ncsu.edu/midlink/ Developed and maintained by: SAS inSchool, North Carolina State University, and University of Central Florida Date searched: October 15, 2001 Last updated: October 3, 2001 [3-12, ELA] The scope of Midlink Magazine has expanded greatly from its inception at Ligon Middle School in Raleigh. Originally conceived as an online magazine for students in the middle grades, Midlink Magazine now serves as a major clearinghouse for collaborative projects in grades 3 through 12. Some of the Web projects are developed by Midlink staff members, while others are inititated by individual teachers from schools around the world, or by organizations such as CIESE. New projects are posted quarterly, and a complete archive is maintained. Special sections include a “Web Honor Roll” of recommended sites and a “Teacher Resource Room” with useful guides on topics such as rubrics, Web publishing, and browser management. The small font size makes this site difficult to view for Macintosh users (a common problem for Web sites developed on the Windows platform). The quality of the content, however, makes it well worth considering for those who would like to view examples of outstanding student work or participate in well-crafted projects involving students from around the world.
